This section addresses common questions about using your institutional email account—how to manage mailbox size and folders (e.g., creating dedicated mailboxes for specific programs), as well as best practices and protections against spam, phishing, and accidental data exposure. You’ll find guidance on requesting storage adjustments, setting up program‑specific folders, configuring send‑as permissions, and understanding the anti‑spam measures we have in place to keep your correspondence safe.

In order to gain access to the infrastructure and services of UoA, a necessary condition is to have a user account. To become our user you must submit an application for the creation of your Electronic Institutional Account.

The Network Operations and Management Center provides the academic community with a wide range of online services to support communication, collaboration, and education:

• Websites
  Installation and hosting of websites for Academic Units and Services, Schools, Departments, Sectors, Laboratories, Clinics, or Conferences.

• UoA Scholar
  A service for creating personal academic web pages for faculty members.

• Personal web pages

In addition, you can use the following online services:

• Storage and file sharing over the Internet

• Screencast
  Live broadcasting of your computer screen anywhere in the world, without the need to install any software or register.

• Online Questionnaires

With the Account Management Service, you can manage your account through three options:

1. Request Data Modification
   Through this option you can request changes to certain elements of your account that relate to your affiliation with the institution. These changes affect how you appear in the Directory Service and determine your rights for the network services offered.

2. Service Management
   This option shows you the services provided to you by NOC, along with the permissions you have for each based on your profile. For some services you have the right to subscribe/unsubscribe, while for others you have the right to configure settings.

3. Change Password
   With this option you can change your password.

A necessary requirement for connecting to the University network and accessing the services of the Network Operations and Management Center is the creation of an account.

For the entire Academic Community (staff and students), the following connection methods are available for accessing the University network:

• Wireless Connection (WiFi)
• Connection via Proxy server
• VPN

Additionally, for University staff (Human Resources), the following services are provided:

• Wired connection
• Telephone connection
