At the Network Operations and Management Center (KLEIDI), servers are operated and made available for hosting websites of the University’s units (Services, Schools, Departments, Laboratories, or Clinics) that do not have the capacity to support this service themselves, as well as for individuals who are members of the University community.
In addition, KLEIDI provides the online service UoA Scholar for creating personal academic web pages for faculty members.
KLEIDI also offers FTP‑accessible storage space, so that users can store data either in a shared area or in a personal directory. This gives an intermediate storage location for temporary use or for exchanging data with other users.
Who is it for
Central administration of the University
Administrations of Departments, Schools, and Laboratories
Faculty (DEP), Special Teaching Staff (EEDIP), and Technical‑Administrative Staff (ETEP) of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA)
Research collaborators and graduate students of NKUA
Organizers or coordinators of conferences, seminars, or research programs
How to gain Access
Personal webpage: You only need an account at the Network Operations and Management Center.
UoA Scholar service: You must be a faculty member (DEP) of the University and have a KLEIDI account.
School/Department/Lab/Conference website: First, an authorized person (e.g., Department Chair, Laboratory Director) must designate a University Services account holder who will be responsible for maintaining those pages.
There are two main hosting options, and the Helpdesk can advise you based on your needs:
Static‑files website (HTML, images, Flash files, JavaScript, etc.)
Dynamic pages (PHP/ASP, databases, etc.) and online site‑builders are not supported.
Content‑Managed website using the centrally installed TYPO3 CMS
Requires a basic familiarity with computers and lets you upload content to the Web without special software.
